the early years of the boxer
Akihiko Sanada was orphaned at a young age with his only sister, and had to settle at an orphanage in Port Island. There, he and his sister Miki met a boy by the name of Shinjiro Aragaki. At first, this boy was cold to them, but he eventually warmed up to them, thanks to Miki’s persistence and charm. It wasn’t smooth-sailing for these two boys at first, since Akihiko thought of Shinjiro as competition for Miki’s attention. However, a certain incident involving Miki being injured and Shinjiro being her savior won Akihiko over, and since then, the two of them have been the best of friends.
His childhood was a dismal affair, since people kept on teasing him about being born with an unusual hair color, wearing old, secondhand clothing, and worst of all, having no parents. Despite that, he did well in school. He was not the best, but he often got small awards for his good behavior, which he often took home to Miki.
Still having Shinjiro for his best friend and Miki as his sister helped him weather those bullies. It was also thanks to Shinjiro that he learned how to throw a punch. That kept some of the bullies off him, once they learned that the “Sanada boy” had a mean left hook. Unfortunately, Miki did not have the same defensive mechanism, and thus she continued to be bullied by her tormentors. It was about this time when Shinjiro stole a toy from a local toy store, and he and Akihiko falling out as a result.
Years later, an electric fan short-circuited and set the orphanage on fire. During that time, Akihiko and Shinjiro managed to get out of the orphanage just in time; however, Miki was not as lucky as they were. Suffice to say, when he noticed that Miki was not with them, he became hysterical and wanted to dive back into the orphanage to search for her. However, one of the orphanage assistants held him back, and due to his small amount of strength, he was unable to break free from that person’s grip. He was never told the story of why she got left behind and died in the fire, but that experience of being held back by someone older and stronger than him left a deep imprint in his mind.
One day, during his first year in junior high, he encountered a person who continuously pushed his weight around. He didn’t bother Akihiko, but when he saw her mess with one of the girls in his class, a girl who resembled Miki sans the hair color, he took matters into his own hands and let his fists do the talking. A teacher saw the whole incident and hauled him in to the faculty office, only to offer him a spot in the boxing team. Akihiko, seeing that as a good opportunity to strengthen himself, accepted the offer. Of course, he was still suspended afterwards.
Akihiko’s dedication to his craft did not go unrewarded. He won match after match and became the undisputed king of the ring. The title Golden Boy of Gekkoukan was simply not for show, as his opponents would grudgingly admit. It was during one of these matches that he was acquainted with Mitsuru Kirijo. This then mysterious woman tempted him with an offer that would further his strength, which he readily accepted. Shortly after he joined SEES, they were joined by none other than Shinjiro Aragaki, his best friend.

the life of the boxer during the unexpected events
After dwelling the past he has gone through, where the certain accident which he didn't know will happen, Akihiko has became the captain of the Boxing Team in Gekkoukan High. The past when he was still in early SEES but an accident happened due his best friend's Persona, Castor has gone berserk and killed a bystander--which is Ken Amada's mother. After the accident happened, Shinjiro Aragaki has left SEES.
It happened before the transfer student and the others have joined the group. Knowing Yukari Takeba joined the SEES which have the resolve to fight through the Dark Hour and Tartarus by seeking the truth of her father. Alongside the new transfer student who he knew that they arrived during the hidden time, he heard that they have the potential to fight; even they didn't know the reason to fight at first. The first full moon after their arrival, Akihiko was injured after saving Junpei near the supermarket during the Dark Hour and the first full moon. He was enthusiastic to fight but being held back by Mitsuru while she scolded him to refrain himself for getting more injured. He wanted to go against it but complied, he knew it will be getting worse if he goes into the front-line once more. He didn't expect the potential they had to fight and leading them during the expedition afterwards. Akihiko might be envious of them; yet it only pushed him to get more stronger.
Past months, he kept trying on asking his childhood friend, Shinjiro Aragaki to join back to SEES; no matter on how the other male has refused or turned down his offer several times. Akihiko never know to give up. It took several attempts until Ken Amada himself joined the SEES, with the aid of the leader, Akihiko forced Shinjiro to join.
During the events of the Strength and Fortune full moon battles, Akihiko is unsettled and distracted by the absence of Ken and Shinjiro. He later realizes the date: October 4, the day Shinjiro's persona killed Ken's mother. He leaves the others in search of Ken and Shinjiro, finding them both behind Port Island Station along with Strega member Takaya Sakaki, who has interrupted Shinjiro and Ken's conversation and intends to kill them both. He has already shot Shinjiro and was aiming to shoot Ken, but Shinjiro stops Takaya from killing Ken by taking another bullet despite knowing that Ken has made a vow to kill him to avenge his mother's death. Shinjiro's last words are a request that Akihiko take care of Ken, and he states that his death is how things should be.
Mourning the loss of his friend, Akihiko nonetheless finds himself amazed that Shinjiro could face death so bravely and vows to face difficulty head on. This resolution causes his Persona to evolve into into Caesar. He is one of the first to express his determination to fight Nyx, despite knowing she cannot be defeated.
Akihiko remains loyal to the leader and SEES until the end of Nyx's defeat. When their leader confronts Nyx's true form Death, Ken's voice is the first heard, worrying that there's nothing they can do. Akihiko's voice is then heard consoling Ken and SEES, saying that they can't give up and they must believe in him. On Graduation Day, Akihiko remembers the promise SEES made and runs to him on the roof.

the aftermath: living beyond the dark hour and tv
On the eve of March 31, Akihiko and his dormmates found themselves locked inside the Minatodai Dormitory, faced with the task of exploring the place known as the Abyss of Time. In it, he finds himself revisiting some memories from the past, as well as getting into a fight with Aigis and Metis over the keys that could change fate. He lost the fight, but in turn, he was able to gain an answer with regards to what happened during the promised day in that rooftop.
After dealing with those events, he proceeded with his plans to enter college. As with high school, he managed to excel academically, but his stay in university did nothing in the way of satisfying his thirst for battle. Upon receiving the invitation to join the Shadow Operatives as one of its founders, Akihiko decided to take a break from college life and dive into an adventure outside the confines of Japan, hoping it would aid in his quest for self-improvement in his craft. Not to mention exploration in the realm of shirtlessness.
His travels took him to many places, but sad to speak, his dreams of engaging in challenging battles were all for naught. Brawls in dark alleys were common fare for him, unfortunate as it was, which were more annoying than actually helpful with regards to his quest for strength.
Along the way—and thanks to some rogue Shadow encounters which apparently existed outside of Japan—he managed to perfect the act of summoning his Persona without the use of an Evoker, though he still kept the item on his person.
Upon getting a summon from Mitsuru, he eagerly jumped at the chance to return to Japan. There, he arrived at Inaba and discovered a strange dimension inside the TV. Inside the TV World, he participated in a tournament called the P1-Grand Prix and encountered other Persona users.
After the incident, he left the Shadow Operatives in order to focus on his plans of becoming a police officer. This involved going back to college, and eventually reaching his goal of entering the said profession.

After those times, what's next?
After he had done with his college and resigned from his occupation as a police officer, Akihiko heard somewhere which the information about a certain agency that caught his attention and interest; to become a helper to help the people in need. It was the same as he had become a police officer, but it was more better than he expected to. So, he decided to register and take the job upon the agency for a trial in several weeks. By his surprised and unexpected experience had happened during registered in there, he met his old comrade which had gone for years after the Fall, Makoto Yuuki. He couldn't lie that he felt relieved to meet the other once again after their long separation, yet he didn't even know he had resurrected. Thus, they hung out like usual, even with the awkward tension they felt between them; within the time has passed, the tension has decreased and they were like the same old, same old.
Along with the other new comrades he met each day, he may not decrease the determination and the enthusiasm he had since he felt slightly contented in his current workplace. He could shown his boxing skills may unwasted for the circumstances which he had trained for long and those far countries he had gone into through his own expedition. Even it will be waste some time to increase his passion for getting more stronger, he should've been stopped and retiring on how much stronger he had gone into. With the new work, he could do another thing besides his daily basis of his training.
